My 50th Birthday in Montego Bay, Jamaica!

First thing to do was to get our passports. We also enjoy cruising and after reading about the horror stories of what happens if you get stranded in a foreign country – without a passport, well….

I’m a planner and it’s something that I truly enjoy doing when it comes to planning trips. I usually plan “big trips” at least a year in advance. While searching for all inclusives in Jamaica, I came across the Holiday Inn in Montego Bay and since we try to stay at Holiday Inn’s, I decided to give this one a try. I’m glad that we did.

It’s insane to see how expensive things are now. The price is more than double at the hotel compared to when we visited 3 years ago. I will leave a breakdown of what we spent for this vacation at the conclusion end of this blog.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.

Grab your favorite drink and come along (with us) on this trip. I hope that you enjoy!

Headed To The Airport

I’m going toI’m posting the pictures as a slideshow since there are so many! Videos will be on my Youtube channel which I will also link.

Up in the clouds. It was amazing being up so high and seeing the gorgeous scenery below. Also sharing the snack I ate and what was complimentary onboard.

We weren’t allowed to take pictures at the airport. Do make sure that all forms are filled out ahead of time. We bought Club Mobay and I’d definitely recommend it; especially if you’re a newcomer. A represenative will be waiting for you to walk you to customs and answer any questions you may have. There’s also a private Club Mobay lounge; which provides free drinks and food.

We decided to do private transportation to the hotel based on the recommendations of others. We used Best Jamaica. I want to say it took about 10-15 minutes to get from airport to the hotel. It was a little after 2pm when we arrived at the hotel.

Please make sure that you have notified your bank and/or credit card company of your plans to travel out of the country. We did and yet there was still an issue. It was corrected but talk about being stressful. But nothing that I drink couldnt cure. LOL! I do remember everyone being very friendly.

We had an ocean view room. I cannot recall the room number. *sad face* Our room was very clean and the views were gorgeous. Only downside was that the bathroom was a tight fit. 2 people could not be in there at the same time. After getting settled into our room, we decided to go explore for a bit. The grounds were breathtaking. Very well kept up and there was plenty to do.

After exploring, we came back to our room to head to dinner. I believe we ate at the Italian restuarant that night. After dinner, we caught a show, took a stroll over to the gazebo before settling in for the night.

Our first day was amazing. Up next day 2, so stay tuned. Make sure that you’ve subscribed so you know when the post goes up.

Thank you in advance.
